having left home at 16:00 we travelled a fairly quiet M5 to the outskirts of Birmingham when we hit stationary traffic fortunately this did not delay us very much but did reinforce the sense of traveling up the night before, the stationary traffic being just a mild inconvenience compared if we were having to catch a plane to the gut renching anxiety of thinking of the consequences of missing a flight.
We parked the car in a long term car park which I had never used Airparks and were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and professionalism of the company no pub car park or field this year.
A short hop on the bus got us to the airport and the nearby Ibis hotel where we were booked in for our first night, supplements by a bottle or two of Shiraz
